From immediate suicidal crisis to information about local referrals, Response Hotline is equiped to take a wide range of calls: 
- Call to speak with someone who will listen and not judge you
- Call if you feel you might be in danger of hurting yourself
- Call to find referrals to mental health services in your area
- Call to speak to a crisis counselor about someone you're concerned about

Part one of our Fall training program will be held on
September 25th, 26th, October 2nd and October 3rd,
from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm each day.
Trainees must attend all sessions to complete part one.

- Strategies for Suicide Prevention Symposium -
Please mark your calendars, The 4th Annual “Putting the Pieces Together: Strategies for Suicide Prevention symposium will be held on Friday, December 3rd, 2010.
Hosted by the Suicide Prevention Committee of Long Island and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention the full-day symposium runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 pm at the Huntington Hilton Hotel on Broad Hollow Road in Melville, NY. Registration is $60 in advance, $70 at the door (space permitting).
This symposium is one of the only training days dedicated to the topic of suicide prevention in our region. The feedback that we have received from participants has been praise and appreciation for the valuable tools they have gained through their participation.

World Suicide Prevention Day - September 10, 2010
Help us to commemorate WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY with Ten Thousand Voices. Ten Thousand Voices is Response’s suicide prevention campaign! Response Hotline is available 24/7 to anyone going through a difficult time or who is worried about a friend or loved one. Whether on the phone or online, response crisis counselors will give you time to talk about it. Our website also offers valuable info on How To Help a Friend you think may be suicidal.
We invite you to join our group and share our page with a friend on September 10th! Tell them about Response Hotline and invite them to invite their friends. With the knowledge and awareness of available community resources we can become better equipped to help a friend get help and possible prevent a suicide.
